The actress shares that she had to decline the offer back then due to scheduling conflicts
Gaalipata 2 is the next big Kannada release for many reasons. Along with the combination of director Yogaraj Bhat, Golden Star Ganesh, and Diganth Manchale, the film boasts of a new and exciting female cast with Sharmiela Mandre, Vaibhavi Shandilya, and Samyuktha Menon joining the team. Both Vaibhavi and Samyuktha make their debuts in this case and considering that the 2008 film Gaalipata worked mainly because of the romantic track, the two young actresses are in for a great opportunity to make their mark.
And for Shamiela Mandre, the actress has had to wait for almost a decade-and-a-half to work with Yogaraj Bhat. Interestingly she was offered one of the multiple lead roles in Gaalipata but things, at the time, wouldn't fall in place for her due to scheduling issues.
"The decision to not be a part of Gaalipata has stayed with me all along. I mean, who wouldn't want to be in a Yogaraj Bhat film or work alongside Ganesh sir. I am just glad that it all came around eventually," says Sharmiela. She adds that the production of Gaalipata 2 was plagued by delays due to the pandemic but the entire team put in its best to bring the story to life.
Shamiela Mandre began her acting career in 2007 with the film Sajni and has also starred in Telugu and Tamil films. She made her debut as a producer in 2018 with the Tamil film Evanukku Engeyo Matcham Irukku and has made her Kannada debut (as producer with Dasara. The Kannada film stars Sathish Ninasam in the lead role with Mandre playing one of the leads along with Rukmini Vijayakumar.
Coming back to Gaalipata 2, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 12 and the trailer will be out on July 31. Gaalipata 2 will clash with V. Ravichandran's Ravi Bopanna at the box office.
