The third instalment in the film franchise, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, will also feature Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi.
Richa Chadha is all set to bring the iconic Bholi Punjaban back to screens yet again with Fukrey 3. The actress recently opened up about how much her character and the franchise meant to her.
According to an IANS report, Chadha revealed that she considers Fukrey much more than a film franchise. The actress talked about how the film led to the establishment of two important relationships in her life, one probably in reference to her partner Ali Fazal who she met on the sets of the film. She talked about how audiences, especially children, started to embrace the film over the years and how its fan base has grown so much.
On her character in the films, the actress talked about how much she enjoyed playing Bholi on screen. "Bholi Punjaban's character is as iconic as it gets. She is a raw and gutsy gangster who knows how to get things done her way,” she said. Chadha also added that she was looking forward to bringing Fukrey 3 to audiences and thanked fans for their support for the franchise.
In addition to Chadha, the upcoming film will also see Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Pankaj Tripathi reprise their roles from the previous instalments.
The film is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who has also directed Fukrey (2013) and Fukrey Returns (2017). Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, who produced the first two films via their Excel Entertainment banner, will also return as producers for Fukrey 3. The upcoming film went on floors earlier this month after witnessing several delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.
