From Suriya’s Jai Bhim to Nivin Pauly’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, here’s a list of South Indian films gearing up for OTT release around Diwali

With Diwali rounding up on the corner, along with theatrical releases we will also get to see some digital ones on some of the popular platforms

Diwali releases of South Indian movies

1) Jai Bhim

The much-awaited Tamil courtroom drama starring Suriya is all set to hit Amazon Prime Video on November 2. Based on real life incidents, Jai Bhim will shine light on the disappearance of a convict at a police station. The Soorarai Pottru star comes into the picture as a lawyer when the missing person’s wife approaches him with hopes of justice being served.

2) Family Drama

The upcoming Telugu psychological thriller film deals with a crazy psychopath on the loose who goes on a killing spree for joy. It stars Suhaas as the murderer. He will feature in a psychotic role for the first time after portraying the good boy on screen for far too long. Family Drama is all set to drop on SonyLiv on October 29.

3) Sridevi Soda Center

The upcoming Telugu action entertainer stars Sudheer Babu and Anandhi in lead roles. It deals with elements related to casteism, family honour and other unfortunate incidents for the male lead on account of the same. It was earlier released in big screens and opened to mixed reviews. This time, Sridevi Soda Centre is all set to release on ZEE5 on November 4.

4) MGR Magan

The upcoming Tamil rural entertainer starring Sasikumar, Sathyaraj, Mirnalini and Samuthirakani is all set to drop on Disney+Hotstar on November 4. Makers of the movie earlier revealed that they’ve opted for a direct-to-OTT release. Helmed by Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam famed Ponram, the movie revolves around a man whose life turns to hell when he realises something unfortunate his family does. It also deals with the problems faced by a village when someone is out to destroy its mountain.

5) Gully Rowdy

The upcoming Telugu rom-com starring Sundeep Kishan and Neha Shetty deals with a young man who tries to balance his romantic image with his girlfriend while working out his rowdy ways with his friends. Also starring Bobby Simha and Quick Gun Murugan famed Rajendra Prasad, Gully Rowdy is all set to drop on Disney+Hotstar on November 4.

6) Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham

The upcoming satirical entertainer starring Nivin Pauly, Grace Antony and Vinay Forrt among others marks the first Malayalam movie to have a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+Hotstar. Coming November 12, you will get to see the antics of Nivin Pauly as an acting teacher along with other amusing characters. The movie is touted to contain elements like satirical comedy based on politics and nepotism.

7) Laabam

The Tamil action-drama entertainer starring Vijay Sethupathi, Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles, deals with issues related to injustice among farmers and their community. We get to see the Makkal Selvan starting a revolution. It was earlier released in big screens and opened to negative reviews. Thus, the movie also didn’t have a decent run at the box-office. You can now catch it on Netflix. The film released on the digital platform on October 24.
