From Rocky Bhai’s daring escape with a submarine, to a Salaar connect to KGF, here are some KGF Chapter 3 fan theories

KGF Chapter 3 is still a long way off, but there’s no stopping fans from wondering in what direction the plot could go.

KGF: Chapter 2

After sparking excitement among KGF and Yash fans that the third instalment in the franchise would go on floors later this year, Hombale Films, the production house backing it, backtracked and said a timeline was yet to be fixed as director Prashant Neel is still neck-deep in the midst of making Salaar. While fans were left disappointed, producer Vijay Kiragandur reiterated that KGF: Chapter 3 would take off as soon as the cast and crew’s schedules could be aligned and assured that there would be big announcements for the same.

When KGF: Chapter 2 released and ended with an mid-credit scene teasing a possible third instalment in the saga, fans went into overdrive with theories about the possible story lines Prashant could follow for the new film. And the speculation got even wilder after Vijay said that the banner was looking at creating a multiverse of its own, and having cross-over projects.

Here’s a look at some of the theories that have been floating on the internet.

1) Rocky Bhai is still alive. He would not have ventured into sea with all the gold without a backup plan

2) In KGF: Chapter 2, Rocky is depicted as the country’s biggest criminal; he describes himself as CEO of India. But Rocky has always been intent on reigning over the world, so, Chapter 3 will be about his ascent to become the world’s greatest criminal. Fans suggest a timeline 2-3 years prior to the end of Chapter 2. The CIA and the Middle East is also after Rocky, which implies that his activities extended well beyond Indian borders.

3) Although Rocky’s apparently lifeless body is shown sinking to the bottom of the ocean after PM Ramika Sen orders to rain fire on his ship, it is believed that he escapes with a Russian submarine.

4) Even before KGF: Chapter 2 released, there was speculation that Saran Sakthi’s character Farmaan has a Salaar connect. Fans believe that Farmaan is a young Salaar, even though there is a reference to his death in KGF. This theory gained credence after Eashwari Rao, who played Farmaan’s mother in KGF2 was cast to play Prabhas’ mother in Salaar. Also, Salaar in Urdu means commander; Farmaan was a commander in Rocky Bhai’s army.

5) Rocky Bhai and Salaar will team up in the gangsterverse created by director Prashant Neel. Some theories suggest that Ugramm’s Agastya (Sriimurali) may also be thrown into the mix.
