With new month dawning upon us, we bring you the list of films releasing in February, from Lal Salaam to Lover
The new month is upon us. With the new month, February, is round the corner, we also have new theatrical releases lined up. While January saw some big star films like Ayalaan, Captain Miller hitting for Pongal, small films like Blue Star gained its success too.
On that note, here are the list of Tamil films that will be gracing the silver screens in February.
Starring Vidharth and Poorna in the lead roles, Devil is written and directed by Aathityaa who had earlier directed the 2018 film Savarakathi. Devil mark the debut of director Mysskin as music composer. Adith Arun and Subhashree Rayaguru are also part of the cast. The film features Vidharth and Poorna playing husband and wife, whose seemingly calm life gets disturbed by strangers as the couple get involved with them in their separate ways. The film is expected to be a thriller.
Vadakkupatti Ramasamy is directed by Karthik Yogi of Dikkiloona fame and stars Santhanam in the lead role. Backed by People Media Factory, a leading production house in the Telugu film industry, the film also stars Megha Akash, Nizhalgal Ravi, MS Bhaskar, Maaran, Tamil, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, John Vijay, Ravi Mariya, Seshu, Suresh, and Prasanth. The film is a period comedy drama set in 1974 in a "strange village” and Santhanam in the titular role. The film is expected to have some black comedy and situational comedy of errors to evoke laughter and restrain its central conflict between atheism and god-believing.
Lover stars Manikandan in the lead role. The film is written and directed by debutant Prabhuram Vyas and is expected to be a romance drama throwing light on modern day complexities of relationships. Besides Manikandan, the film also stars Sri Gouri Priya, Kanna Ravi, Saravanan, Geetha Kailasam, Harish Kumar, Nikhila Shankar, Rini, Pintu Pandu, and Arunachaleshwaran, among others. It is backed by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banner of Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment, which earlier produced the 2023 success film Good Night starring Manikandan. The music is scored by Sean Roldan, with the film’s cinematography handled by Shreyaas Krish. Barath Vikraman served as the editor.
Lal Salaam is directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and marks the first time she is teaming up with her father and actor Rajinikanth. The latter will be making a cameo appearance as Moideen Bhai in the film, with Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing the lead roles. The film is expected to touch upon cricket and religious conflicts. Others part of the cast include Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Vivek Prasanna, Dhanya Balakrishna. Kapil Dev, the celebrated cricketer, is making a special cameo appearance. Lal Salaam is produced by Lyca Productions.

Actor Jayam Ravi who was last seen in Iraivan, will be next seen in Siren, a revenge action drama. The film is written and directed by Antony Bhagyaraj. Others part of the cast include Keerthy Suresh, Samuthirakani, Anupama Parameswaran, Yogi Babu, and Tulasi among others. Jayam Ravi plays the role of a convict while Keerthy plays the cop. The film will revolve the convict released on a parole, and promises heavy action sequences. With GV Prakash scoring the music, the film is shot by Selva Kumar SK and edited by Ruben.

Actor-comedian Sathish will be headlining upcoming film titled Vithaikkaaran, which will revolve around smuggling and how Sathish tries to retrieve the goods which are withheld. Directed by Venki, others part of the film include Simran Gupta, Anandraj, Madhusudhan, Subramaniam Siva, John Vijay, Pavel Navageethan, and Japan Kumar. The film is produced by Vijay Pandi under the banner White Carpet Films.
