Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham

The period war film set in the 16th century narrates the story of Kunjali Marakkar, a well-known naval commander who defended the Malabar coast against the Portuguese invasion. Directed by Priyadarshan, the movie stars Mohanlal, Arjun Sarja, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Suniel Shetty. The movie is expected to hit theatres this August.

Shershaah

Vishnuvardhan’s Shershaah starring Siddharth Malhotra tells the story of the Param Vir Chakra awardee Army Captain Vikram Batra. Its release was postponed last year due to the pandemic and now it is gearing up for a direct OTT premiere on August 12.

Bhuj: The Pride of India

The period war drama directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya chronicles the story of 300 Gujarati women who reconstructed the IAF airbase under Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. The movie stars Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.

Tejas

Tejas is an upcoming film starring Kangana Ranaut and directed by Sarvesh Mewara. The movie is about a fierce and daring fighter pilot. The film which was to release in April this year, got delayed due to the pandemic.

SamBahadur

The upcoming biopic of war hero Sam Manekshaw is directed by Meghna Gulzar. Vicky Kaushal plays the titular role and his first look was released in 2019. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the first Indian Army to a military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, leading to the creation of Bangladesh.
