For all those who have loved and adored the extremely popular TV series ‘Friends’, here is a piece of news that is bound to break your heart. Actor Matthew Perry, best known for his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the globally popular TV series ‘Friends’ passed away on Saturday, as per a news report in LA Times. The report stated that the 54-year-old actor was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence.

The news report also added that, when the concerned authorities had responded around 4 pm at the actor’s residence, he was discovered unresponsive. Immediately after the actor’s death, the robbery-homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are reportedly investigating the death and the cause of death would be declared on a later date by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. The news report also cited sources negating the possibility of foul play in the actor’s death.

After getting to known the sad news about the passing away of Matthew Perry, many celebrities took to social media to offer their condolences by remembering the happy times and memories with the late actor. Mira Sorvino (who had starred with Mathew Perry in the 1994 TV movie ‘Parallel Lives’) posted on social media stating, “Oh no!!! Matthew Perry!! You sweet, troubled soul!! May you find peace and happiness in Heaven, making everyone laugh with your singular wit!!”.

There was also Paget Brewster (who played the role of Kathy in season four) also posted, “I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry. He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after. Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there”.

Comic actor Tom Green wrote, “Shocked and saddened to just hear about the passing of Matthew Perry in a tragic drowning. He is one of the many talented and incredible success stories from my hometown of Ottawa Canada. Rest in peace Matthew”. There was also the well-known American actress and television host Melissa Rivers wrote, “A high school classmate died today. So sad. Gone too soon. RIP

The well known TV personality Piers Morgan took to social media and wrote, "RIP Matthew Perry, 54. The Friends star was a great actor, but by his own admission, a very tormented guy. His recent autobiography about his addiction-ravaged life was one of the most powerful, honest and revealing I’ve ever read. Such sad news."

There was also the actress Meredth Salenger who wrote, Oh no no no no no! Matty! Oh man. My heart breaks. Matty... Matthew and I have known each other since were were 16 years old. Oh man. No words. Rest in peace sweet @MatthewPerry".

Actor Josh Charles, who had worked with Perry in The Good Wife, took to social media and wrote, "Awful news. RIP brother.".

The American actor-singer Sterling Knight wrote, "I was so lucky to be in this photo and more lucky still to have been a part of such an amazing cast. My first big job. Everyone was so kind and I made an utter ass of myself in front of my sitcom hero, @MatthewPerry. He was kind, genuine, offered advice and inspired confidence. I’ll always be a little bummed that we never got to play tennis, but heaven must’ve needed some sarcasm, and he was the best".

There was also the well-known American actress and author Selma Blair took to social media and wrote a heartfelt note about the late actor Mathew Perry. She wrote, My oldest boy friend. All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams”.

As for the actor Mathew Perry, he was the son of actor John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Marie Langford. His growing up years shuffled between Montreal and Los Angeles after his parents had got separated when he was barely one year old. After having started as a child actor in shows like ‘Charles In Charge’, ‘Beverly Hills 90210’, there was no looking back for him. He shot to overnight success and became a household name with the massive success of the TV show ‘Friends’, which had been titled as ‘Friends Like Us’ before. Besides Mathew Perry, the show 'Friends' also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer in the lead roles.
