French Open 2023 is trending on all social media handles nowadays. The prestigious tennis tournament is being held in France and is closely followed by a huge number of celebrities not just in Hollywood but in Bollywood as well.
One such celebrity is Amitabh Bachchan who clearly enjoys watching French Open in his free time. He, even at the age of 80, does know how to strike the right balance between his personal life and professional life.
While on the professional front, he is busy working on the sets of Project K – (Nag Ashwin’s directorial featuring Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in key roles), he does not put a full stop on prioritizing his leisure time.
He, recently, shared that he loves watching French Open and recalled the era of legendary French tennis player Yannick Noah. Big B even appreciated the French player for his fashion statements. In his blog, he wrote, “This French tournament, which has epitomized trend and fashion through ages, submits itself to the latest comfort. I do remember a Roland Garros tournament, where at the end of a game, the management asked the great French Tennis Champion, the first black French Champion to win a Grand Slam, YANNIK NOAH to come down and make a presentation to the winner. And he came down in a jacket tie and all other formals... but in jeans!!”
“And the crowd and the commentators murmured in a gasp at this.. !!! I was so impressed by Noah to have not cared for the formal tradition. And now the entire World is comforted by jeans and sneakers and the ladies with the same attire - even tights - for ease of movement at work. Oh! This is a lovely world!”
Yannick Noah is a former French tennis player, who had won the French Open in 1983, and is currently the captain of both France's Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup teams.
The final match of the ongoing French Open will be held on June 11 in France.
