The makers of Freedom at Midnight are dropping teasers and increasing the excitement for the series. SonyLIV's upcoming outing promises a never-seen-before glimpse into India’s 1947 independence. Now, the third and final teaser for Freedom at Midnight arrived, and it depicts a defining moment in history featuring Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In the teaser drop, Gandhi urges Patel, in a desperate attempt to prevent separation, to assign Muhammad Ali Jinnah the leadership seat. It was this moment that began the journey of India's partition and the formation of the new country, Pakistan. The video shows Gandhi and Patel discussing how to resolve the conflict between the country and the throne, as the nation divides due to religious differences.

While sharing the teaser, creator Nikkhil Advani quoted an excerpt from the book Freedom at Midnight and stated, "Gandhi could not budge Nehru and Patel. There was a limit to the price they were prepared to pay to keep India united, and handing over power to their foe, Jinnah, transgressed it. They did not share Gandhi’s conviction that partition would inevitably lead to terrible violence.”
