Sharing the character posters of Freedom At Midnight on Instagram, the makers mentioned, "FreedomAtMidnight shall illuminate with depth and authenticity the stories of prominent personalities, offering viewers a nuanced understanding of their struggles, triumphs, and sacrifices (sic)."
In an official statement, Mailshka Mendonsa opened up about portraying the character of Sarojini Naidu in Freedom At Midnight. "Playing her is a challenge and honour, as my only reference point is what I’ve read about her and the discussions I’ve had about her with our director. I think she was a true representation of the Modern women of India who was not boxed by any limitations," she said.
On the other hand, Rajesh Kumar spoke about playing the role of Liaquat Ali Khan. The actor said immersing in Liaquat's character has been a pivotal moment in his career. Rajesh further mentioned he aims to authentically portray the role by doing thorough and detailed research on Khan's life.
Meanwhile, Nikkhil Advani serves as the showrunner and director of Freedom At Midnight.
