Steve Carrell’s experience working in Foxcatcher

Back in 2014, director Bennett Miller, along with Steve Carrell, Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum had a great talk with Variety magazine and shared their experiences working in Foxcatcher. According to Carrell, Bennett Miller was the first big reason to take on the challenge of playing the infamous murderer John E. Du Pont.

On the other hand, director Miller shared that when he got to know about the other side of Steve Carrell, he immediately knew Carrell is the one for him. “The notion of casting somebody who is perceived habitually in a benign way, meaning you don’t expect these characters to be capable of doing the things that this character does, is something that was said about the real John du Pont”, Miller told Variety.
