The makers of Malayalam upcoming film, Footage, have dropped a major update today (July 5). The movie, which will see Manju Warrier collaborating with editor-turned-director Saiju Sreedharan for the first time, is slated to have a theatrical release on August 2.
The film was supposed to premiere in theatres in May, but for reasons that were not made clear, it was delayed. A new poster revealing a glimpse of the character of Manju Warrier also revealed the revised release date. “Lost tapes. Untold truths,” the actress wrote on an Instagram post.
The movie, which also stars Vishak Nair and Gayathri Ashok, is reportedly the first found-footage film produced in Malayalam. The makers of Footage claim that it is a thriller that centres on the tale of an inquisitive young couple. In the upcoming days, a trailer or teaser from the producers is anticipated to reveal more information about the story and cast.

Actress Manju Warrier previously shared this intriguing poster of the main cast with the caption, “FOOTAGE CAN TELL WHAT WORDS CAN'T… Excited to introduce to you my next! ‘Footage’ - the directorial debut of the very talented Saiju Sreedharan.(sic)”
For those who are unaware, this film will debut found-footage narration in a Malayalam film for the first time. Nanjiamma is in the movie as well as other actors in supporting parts. This movie is also being edited by director Saiju. Music for Footage will be composed by popular musician Sushin Shyam. The film will be shown in theatres all over the state by Movie Bucket.
