Created by The Stranger and Stay Close director – Fool Me Once narrates the story of Maya, who is grieving the sudden death of her husband Joe by unknown assailants. However, her world turns upside down after she discovers him alive in a secret nanny camera, playing with his daughter Lily.
In the nearly 2-minute trailer, we meet Maya (played by Michelle Keegan) and her husband Joe Burkett (played by Richard Armitage) getting married before we are bombed with the twist of his funeral service seconds later in the trailer. As Maya grapples with the grief, she is given a hidden camera to keep an eye on the Nanny for her little daughter Lily. The turning point arrives when she sees her husband alive in the camera, secretly meeting his daughter. “I think your husband stumbled on something big,” one of the characters blurted out to Maya.
During this search for truth journey, she faces a moral dilemma multiple times before hitting up to team with a private detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar). With a mysterious past plot element added, it is undoubtedly an intense thriller.
