Fly Me To The Moon OTT release: Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum led film had been available on multiple platforms on rent since August, but it now makes its streaming debut on THIS platform
Five months after its theatrical release, Fly Me To the Moon, the Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum-led film, will be available to stream. The film has been on OTT for a while, albeit on rent only, and finally gets a streaming date.
An Apple original production, the romantic comedy by Greg Berlanti, set against NASA's historic Apollo 11 moon landing, Fly Me to the Moon will be available on Apple TV+ from December 6. The film, which released in theatres in July this year, was reportedly made at a USD 100 million budget, but made less than half of that in box office revenue.
Set in the 60s, Fly Me To The Moon has Johansson as marketing executive Kelly Jones, hired to fix NASA’s declining public image, amid fears that its Apollo mission will fail. Should the real mission fail to take off, Jones has to fake a moon landing for the unsuspecting public, much to the dismay of mission controller Cole Davis (Tatum).
The official synopsis reads, “Fly Me to the Moon, is a sharp, stylish romantic comedy set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson), brought in to fix NASA’s public image, wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis (Tatum) and his already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, the countdown truly begins…”
