It’s the last month of the year and Tamil fans will have enough to cheer about in the second week of December 2023. From Sasi Kumar’s Naa Naaa to Koose Munisamy Veerappan on OTT, there’s plenty of movies across genres that are sure to keep fans hooked.

Here’s the complete list of movies - including Saba Nayagan and Kannagi - that are either releasing in theatres or can be streamed on OTT platforms this week:

Fight Club

Theatrical release

Release date: December 15

This rustic action film helmed by Abbas A Rahmath - starring Vijay Kumar, Monisha Mohan Menon and Avinash Raghudevan - revolves around the journey of young individuals, exploring their lives, livelihoods, rivalries and friendships. Fight Club marks the debut production venture of director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Saba Nayagan

Theatrical release

Release date: December 15

Starring Ashoke Selvan, the upcoming romantic-comedy film is directed by CS Karthikeyan. Saba Nayagan follows Ashok’s journey from school to college as he explores love and friendship in life. The movie also features Megha Akash, Karthika Muralidharan and Chandini Chowdary in key roles.

Kannagi

Theatrical release

Release date: December 15

Keerthi Pandian’s upcoming film revolves around the lives of four women and the problems they face in marriage and love. Kannagi is directed by Yashwanth Kishore, and it also stars Vidya Pradeep, Ammu Abhirami and Shaalin Zoya. It’s a female-led film, focusing on four female characters.

Naa Naaa

The upcoming dark action drama, starring Sasikumar and Sarathkumar, revolves around Sasikumar’s character, an ordinary citizen who is fed up with the ‘myth’ that hard work leads to success. When he doesn’t earn the respect he deserves, he turns to a life of crime. However, his criminal activities soon caught the attention of the police, led by the ruthless cop Sarathkumar. Naa Naa is helmed by Nirmal Kumar.

Aalambana

Theatrical release

Release date: December 15

Mankatha fame actor Vaibhav Reddy’s upcoming fantasy comedy Aalambana - starring Vaibhav, Parvati Nair and Munishkanth - revolves around two goons, who are after a magic lamp. But the protagonist (Vaibhav) gets it instead, following which the genie (Munishkanth) becomes his slave, changing his life forever. The movie is directed by debutant Pari K Vijay.

Koose Munisamy Veerappan

OTT platform: ZEE5

Release date: December 14

The six-episode true crime docu series delves into the life of the infamous Indian poacher and domestic terrorist Veerappan. Koose Munisamy Veerappan features unseen real-life footage along with bits of narration by the bandit himself. The series is directed by Sharath Joshi.

Parking

OTT platform: Disney+ Hotstar

Release date: Yet to announced

Actor Harish Kalyan’s film Parking had its theatrical release on December 1. The thriller drama film, directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, also features Indhuja Ravichandran and MS Bhaskar in pivotal roles. The film unfolds as a young couple renting the first floor of a building clashes with a 60-year-old man on the ground floor, when car purchases ignite a battle of egos. The film is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar after its theatrical run.
