First single from Dulquer Salmaan's Sita Ramam out

The single Pen Poove Thenvande from Sita RRamam has been released

The first single from director Hanu Raghavpudi’s upcoming film starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna, is out. The film, titled Sita Ramam, will have Mrunal playing the titular roles of Sita and Dulquer playing Ramam. Rashmika is said to be playing a character called Afreen, a Kashmiri woman.

Taking to his social media page, Dulquer wrote, "#SitaRamam is set to steal your hearts ♥️ First Single #OhSitaHeyRama #HeySitaHeyRama #PenPooveThenvande out on May 9th @hanurpudi @mrunal0801 @iamRashmika @iSumanth @Composer_Vishal #PSVinod @MrSheetalsharma @madhankarky @VyjayanthiFilms @SwapnaCinema @SonyMusicSouth (sic)."

The title was announced on the occasion of Rama Navami. Dulquer had then written on his Instagram page, "“Super hyped to present the first glimpse of our #SitaRamam. My homecoming with @vyjayanthimovies and first time collab with so many amazing artists.The stunning and headstrong Sita to my Ram @mrunalthakur, the fireball rebel Afreen @rashmika_mandanna & the fearless and galant Vishnu Sir played by the gentleman actor, my beloved@sumanth_kumar Anna amongst others. Every single cast and crew member are of the finest in the country and it’s been a sheer blessing to experience this film (sic).”

The film, we hear, is set in the backdrop of a war and revolves around the love story between a soldier and his love interest. Rashmika's character is said to be the one that helps Ramam and Sita reunite on screen. The supporting cast also includes Prakash raj, Gautham Menon, Sumanth among others. The film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While Vishal Chandrasekar is composing the music, cinematography is by PS Vinod. This is the first time that Dulquer is teaming up with Mrunal Thakur. The film is inspired by the mythology of Ramayana.

Sita Ramam is bankrolled by Ashwini Dutt and Priyanka Dutt under the banner of Swapna Cinema and the film is presented by Vyjayanthi.
