First look of Toby: Raj B Shetty & Co. to unveil much-awaited character on THIS date

The upcoming film Toby promises to bring back Raj B. Shetty's savage avatar onto the big screen. The actor, aside from the titular character, has also penned the script of the film and his fans and fellow film aficionados are extremely curious to know what he has put together.

Raj Shetty managed to spring a huge surprise on everyone with his gritty and fierce performance in Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and many expect Toby to be along the same lines. Toby has been billed as a revenge drama which is slated to release on August 25, 2023.

The team recently announced that Raj's first look in the film will be revealed on June 29. "Is he a man!? Or is he a beast!!? See for yourself," read the announcement poster in blaring red letters to amp up the expectations. In the lead-up to the film's theatrical release, Raj B. Shetty has been consistently dropping hints about the vibe and tone of the film, with his more recent post alluding to the subject matter with the caveat "Push a sheep too far, you get a beast".

Toby has been directed by Raj's former associate Basil Alchalakkal and the film comes as a collaboration between Lighter Buddha Films (Raj B. Shetty's home banner) and Agasthya Films. Chaithra Achar and Samyuktha Hornad, too, star in the film with Midhun Mukundan coming on board to score the music. Praveen Shriyan, who has previously edited and shot all films directed by Raj B. Shetty, reprises his roles.

Known to be quite low-key and discreet about the way he works, Raj B. Shetty has wrapped up his third directorial Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye, which marks actress Ramya's debut as a producer. The film is in the final leg of post-production and it seems as though the team is divided between releasing the film on OTT or lending it a theatrical run. Raj B. Shetty, however, opines that Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye should be released directly on digital.
