Yogi Babu plays a father in Pa Ranjith's Bommai Nayagi out; first-look poster out

The first look of director-producer Pa Ranjith's Bommai Nayagi, starring Yogi Babu was released on the occasion of the later's birthday today. In the poster, we see Yogi Babu walking along with a child, which might be his daughter in the film, and pointing afar at something. We see a turbulent sea shore in the background with boats docked across.

Taking to his social media page, Ranjith, shared the first-look poster and captioned it, "Presenting the First Look of #BommaiNayagi starring @iYogiBabu✨ BommaiNayagiFirstLook #HBDYogiBabu @officialneelam @YaazhiFilms_ @vigsun @shan_shanrise @athisayam_rajj @SundaramurthyKS @EditorSelva @KaviKabilan @TherukuralArivu @_STUNNER_SAM @thehari___ (sic)."

The film's lead actor Yogi Babu, too, shared another picture, in which he is seated on a boat along with the same child. He wrote on his handle, "Presenting the First Look of #BommaiNayagi starring @iYogiBabu #BommaiNayagiFirstLook #HBDYogiBabu @beemji @officialneelam @YaazhiFilms_ @vigsun @shan_shanrise @athisayam_rajj @SundaramurthyKS @EditorSelva @KaviKabilan @TherukuralArivu @_STUNNER_SAM @The_Hariharan (sic)."

The plot is said to revolve around a father and daughter, and how their lives are affected due to the politics around. Interestingly, this will be the first time that Yogi Babu will dive into a completely serious role and play a father. The film is helmed by debutant Shan and has music by Sundaramurthy. The rest of the star cast includes Subhatra (who had earlier appeared in Ranjith's Kabali and Madras) and Hari Krishnan, also a regular in Ranjith's films.

The shoot for the film has been wrapped up and majority of the portions have been canned around Cuddalore. The team had shared pictures from the wrap up celebration and captioned it, "It's a wrap! Our next with @iYogiBabu directed by @dir_shan45 @beemji @thehari___ 🎉🎊 (sic)."

Bommai Nayagi is produced by Ranjith's Neelam Productions and Yaazhi Films. In the meantime, Ranjith is also gearing up for the release of his directorial venture, Natchathiran Nagargiradhu, which has Rajisha Vijayan and Kalidas Jayaram in the lead.
