The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth and Reeshma Nanaiah in the lead roles.
Preetham Gubbi and Golden Star Ganesh are all set to work together for the fourth time on a film titled 'Baana Daariyalli'. The title of the new collaboration was announced in April (2022) with the film slated to go on floors some time mid-May. As the team sets its sights on the upcoming shooting schedules, the first look of the film comes out on May 13th at 9:59 am. The same was announced through a special poster that was shared on social media by both Preetham Gubbi and Ganesh.
The title is derived from the iconic song of the same name that was sung by Puneeth Rajkumar in 'Bhagyavantha'. The 1981 film starred the matinee idol, Dr. Rajkumar in the lead and featured Puneeth as a child artist (credited as Master Lohith) who also sang the song. The makers of the upcoming film deemed the name 'Baana Daariyalli' to be apt for their story that brims with romance. Reportedly, the story of the film has been written by popular cinematographer Preetha Jayaraman with Preetham Gubbi penning the screenplay.
'Baana Daariyalli' has Rukmini Vasanth and Reeshma Nanaiah playing the female leads - Rukmini plays Leela in the film who, reportedly, is into water sports, and Reeshma Nanaiah, who is named Kadambari in the film, will be seen as a wildlife photographer in the film.
Rukmini Vasanth is also simultaneously working on Hemanth M. Rao's 'Sapta Sagaradaache Ello' alongside Rakshit Shetty while Reeshma Nanaiah, having made her debut recently with 'Ek Love Ya', has 'Raana' and other films in her kitty.

The same reports have also revealed that the film is set to be shot across multiple locations including Bengaluru, Banaras, Tamil Nadu, and Africa. The Karnataka portions are to begin in May to also accommodate Ganesh's 'Gaalipata 2' promotions. The team plans on releasing the film by the end of the year.
