The project was announced on Aishwarya Rajesh's birthday and the actress will be essaying the role of a cab driver in the film. Driver Jamuna is directed by Kinslin of Vathikuchi fame and will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The reason the team decided to release in multiple languages, they say, is that the concept was relatable to all kinds of audience. It is said that Aishwarya Rajesh met many cab drivers to get into the skin of the character as a call taxi driver. She has also been working on her fitness for the role as it is said to be demanding one. The shoot began on Tamil New Year day last year.
Driver Jamuna is billed as a crime thriller. The film has music by Ghibran, cinematography by Gokul Benoy and editing by Ramar of Asuran fame. Since the shoot began last year, the team had stated that they have been following the COVID-19 safety protocol and standard operating procedures on the set.
This apart, Aishwarya also has in her kitty the Tamil remake of The Great Indian Kitchen, Dhruva Natchathiram, Theeyavar Kulaigal Nadunga and Pulimada. The Great Indian Kitchen will have her playing the role of a young homemaker. The Tamil version is directed by Kannan and will have Rahul Ravindran playing the male lead. The shoot for the film began last year.
