Kamal Haasan's recent outing Vikram has been setting the theatres on fire box office. But, at a theatre in Puducherry, it seems fire literally caught on! The incident happened at a theatre in Kalapet, Puducherry on June 7. During the climax scene of the film, fire broke out on the theatre screen. It looks like a case of electricity short circuit and the screen is said to have been destroyed. However, nothing major or untoward happened at the venue. Since no complaints were registered on the issue, the news didn't really do the rounds. However, a video of the incident has now surfaced on the internet.
Kamal Haasan had recently has come up with a video in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, thanking the audience for making the film a success. He said that irrespective of the language, good content and performances always work with the audience. The actor also praised the entire star cast and technical team for their contribution to the film. Kamal also gifted a car to the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj and a luxury watch to Suriya, who had made a special appearance in the film. Kamal had also penned a handwritten letter to Lokesh Kanagaraj, wishing a bright future and the director had termed the letter 'lifetime settlement'.
The star cast for the film includes Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Suriya, Narain, Gayathrie Shankar, Arjun Das, Chemban Jose Vinod and Kalidas Jayaram.Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander. While the cinematography is by Girish Gangadharan, editing is by Philomin Raj. The film hit screens on June 3 and is expected to drop on Disney + Hotstar once its completes the four-week run at the theatres. Vikram was released in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi and the film has been running to packed houses even as it has entered second week of its release.
