A year after Pathaan's release, filmmaker Siddharth Anand treated the audience to his new film, Fighter. The aerial actioner, starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, hit the silver screen on January 25, 2024. Needless to say, Figher had a bumper opening at the box office. It also benefited and earned well due to the long weekend around Republic Day. However, the Siddharth Anand directorial witnessed a major dip in the collection on its first Monday, followed by a further drop on day six.
For the uninitiated, Fighter saw a major drop in its box office collection as the film minted only Rs 8 crore at the ticket window. While one expected that the movie would gain momentum after a sharp decline, it witnessed a further dip on day six at the box office. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer managed to collect Rs 7.75 crore.
Considering the same, the total box office collection of Fighter now stands at Rs 134.25 crore. If the film had continued to consistently perform at the BO, it would've been close to the Rs 200 crore mark now. However, the movie has maintained a slow pace and therefore, it is struggling to cross the Rs 150 crore mark as well.
Although Siddharth's aerial actioner is struggling in the domestic market, Fighter has performed well at the global box office. As per media reports, the film, also featuring Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi, is inching closer to the Rs 250 crore mark at the worldwide BO.
Having said that, Fighter has a high potential to pick up a good pace at the box office as there are no major releases in February except for Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 9, 2024.
As far as Fighter is concerned, the movie has been produced by Vicacom 18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
