Filmmaker Siddharth Anand's Fighter opened to great response from the audience and critics. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, the aerial actioner was also off to a flying start at the box office. After four days of its theatrical release, the movie witnessed a sharp decline in the BO collection. While it was expected that the film would gain momentum at the ticket window, it has failed to do so. Fighter saw a further drop in box office collection on day seven.
People pinned high hopes on Hrithik and Deepika's film Fighter. It was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. However, despite a good response, the film isn't able to set the cash registers ringing. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the aerial actioner, directed by Siddharth Anand, collected Rs 6.35 crore on day 7 at the box office.
The total BO collection of Fighter now stands at Rs 140.35 crore. Although the film hasn't been able to perform well in the domestic market, the Hrithik and Deepika starrer is doing extremely well at the global box office.
Had Fighter picked up a good pace at the ticket window, we would have seen the film shatter several BO records. Although it has a good time frame to perform at the BO before Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya's release, it is difficult to say if Fighter will be able to cross any significant milestone.
Keeping the box office business aside, Fighter has been lauded by a lot of Bollywood celebrities. R Madhavan was among the celebs who found Siddharth Anand's movie to be 'extraordinary'. The actor heaped praise on Fighter and stated that it was 'an archival film'. Sussanne Khan, Rakesh Roshan, and Vaani Kapoor, among others, also shared positive reviews of Fighter. In fact, Indian badminton player PV Sindhu also had a positive take on the Siddharth Anand directorial.
