The film has been adapted from Matthew Logelin’s memoir Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss & Love.
The trailer of Netflix’s upcoming film Fatherhood is here, and it is from Kevin Hart’s perspective. The film, that has been adapted from Matthew Logelin’s memoir Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss & Love, revolves around his struggle as a single father.
Matthew (Kevin) takes the viewers on an emotional journey of a single father, through the trailer. The film, also starring Alfre Woodard, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, and Paul Reiser in lead roles, will release on the streamer on June 18. Interestingly (and not-so-coincidentally) the movie would start streaming around Father’s Day.
The trailer, which shows a father carrying his newborn baby girl into his arms at his wife’s funeral, is sure to melt your heart. Matthew goes out of his way to raise his baby. He goes to the extent that he reaches out to a single mother’s group to seek help in raising his child. The video also delves into the struggle every father faces the first time i.e. tying his daughter’s hair. Matthew tries to understand his baby girl’s feelings from a mother's perspective.
The synopsis from the movie’s official page on Netflix reads, “A widowed new dad copes with doubts, fears, heartache and dirty diapers as he sets out to raise his daughter on his own.”
While Kevin’s new film mostly has an emotional and sensitive vibe, he is also keeping his usual comic sensibilities to keep the film lighter.
The actor-comedian is currently filming The Man from Toronto, which is an action comedy film starring Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco, and Ellen Barkin in the lead roles. He is also working on a science-fiction action-comedy film named Borderlands, which is based on the video game series of the same name from Gearbox Software.
