Farhan Akhtar has given Bollywood many iconic films in the past like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, The Sky is Pink, Lakshya and one of them is Dil Chahta Hai. The film was released over 2 decades ago but its dialogues, scenes, and a core lesson on Friendship still resonates for millions of Indians. Today, the actor-director shared a nostalgic post on his social media and the internet is in splits.

Dil Chahta Hai Chapora Fort scene

Farhan Akhtar debuted as a director with a coming-of-age film, Dil Chahta Hai and it's still hailed by millennials for the core themes of friendship, and love. Taking to his Instagram account, Akhtar shared a picture of Chapora Fort, the exact spot where the famous Goa scene was shot. He visited the magical place with director Shujaat Saudagar.

Hitting the nostalgia lane and describing the magic of Goa, the 49-year-old director wrote, “First time back at Chapora Fort since we filmed Akash, Sid, and Sameer talking about life. That was 23 years ago. A lot has changed but the warm, sea-salt-infused Goan air remains the same. Some places are just magical.”

In the scene, the trio of best friends, Akash, Siddharth, and Sameer are sitting at the Chapora Fort in Goa and admiring the beauty of Goa. The nearly two-minute scene became an emotion for millennials because of its touching dialogues that struck the chords of reality. Akash (played by Aamir Khan) says, "You know what? Humein har saal ek hafte ke liye Goa aana chahiye." And his best friend Siddharth (played by Akshaye Khanna) gives a reply which now resonates with many as it depicts the bittersweet reality of life. "Dekh raha hoon woh jahaaz jo zara der baad dikhayi nahi dega. Jaante ho hum teeno uss jahaaz ke tarah hai, jo aaj nahi toh kal apni manzilon ko dhoondhte huye niklenge," he said, citing the unpredictability of life and destiny.

Netizens reaction

The post quickly garnered hundreds of likes and thousands of comments. While some were feeling nostalgic, others felt burdened with the stark reality of 23 years. One user commented, “Bro wrote one story at the age of 24. Enough to be remembered for generations to come.” Another said, “The only takeaway from this is that Dil Chahta Hai came out 23 years ago and I'm not okay with that reality.”

Netizens also resonated with Sid’s honest reply and said that he was right about destiny and life. Many even urged Akhtar to make a sequel and carry on their legacy. “Iconic frame of Bollywood,” “Then I guess it's time to make a sequel of the movie Farhan Akhtar sir, ” fans wrote their hearts out.
