At the trailer launch of Heeramandi Fardeen Khan got emotional, stating, "The perfect role for my comeback" as he discussed his return to acting after a long hiatus.
Many people were interested in the first-look poster for Fardeen Khan's role in the forthcoming series Heeramandi. After a fourteen-year hiatus, the actor makes his screen return with the Netflix series. While speaking about his return to acting and his appreciation to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for casting him in the appropriate character, the actor became visibly emotional during Tuesday's trailer premiere event in Delhi for Heeramandi.
Fardeen stated during the trailer unveiling event that, firstly, it’s been a really lengthy hiatus for him. To put it mildly, it's been nearly fourteen years for the actor. Thanks to Bhansali, Netflix, and this incredible ensemble cast, he has had the incredible opportunity to work on this project. This is the best opportunity he's ever had to make a comeback as an actor.
Fardeen went on to say that this was an entirely new experience for him, and he felt it was the ideal part for him. Coming back to the acting business at his age brings a certain degree of wisdom and life experience; one can truly add to the layers that Bhansali crafts into all of his characters, as they are multi-layered and fascinating.

The actor added that no one else writes characters like the filmmaker, as he traverses the gamut of human emotion and possesses an innate comprehension of it. Although working with Bhansali is intimidating, everything becomes clear when one puts it all together. Fardeen almost burst into tears, and he thanked the filmmaker for this opportunity, and he is thrilled to be here.
Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah also star in the show. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal lead the series.
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar delves into the cultural realities of the glittering area of Heeramandi through the stories of the courtesans and their patrons, set against the backdrop of the country's freedom movement. Premiering on May 1 on Netflix.
