Julia Garner is set to embody the Silver Surfer in Marvel's highly anticipated Fantastic Four revamp.

Now that they have their four actors cast as the legendary members of the super team, Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four is focusing on casting Silver Surfer, and it appears that one of Hollywood's rising stars will be playing the role. The Fantastic Four a film from Marvel Studios, will star Julia Garner as the legendary comic book heroine, according to sources who spoke with Deadline. 

Speculations on Julia Garner's Role

Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Josh Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are the actors set to appear in the film. WandaVision's Matt Shakman is directing Comic Four, based on a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Eric Pearson, and Ian Springer. Production will commence this summer, with the film scheduled to premiere on July 25, 2025.

Marvel Studios has remained silent on the report until now. Unconfirmed rumours have said that Garner will play Shalla-Bal, a comic book villain who appears in the Silver Surfer series, in this film.

Jack Kirby and Stan Lee created The Fantastic Four a 1961 comic book series, about a family of astronauts who gain superpowers due to cosmic ray exposure while in orbit. A talented pilot, Reed's dorm roommate in college, and a former football star, Thing (Ben Grimm) has quite the resume.

Julia Garner's rising career

The role of Ruth in the Netflix murder drama Ozark earned Garner her first of three Emmys, and since then, her career has taken off. The limited series Inventing Anna in which she portrayed Anna Delvey, also earned her an Emmy nomination.

The Royal Hotel is Garner's first feature since Ozark ended, and she has been steadily adding to her filmography ever since. Then there's Apartment 7A a thriller from Paramount, and Wolfman, a Blumhouse and Universal film in which she co-stars with Christopher Abbott.
