Director Don Palathara’s hard-hitting social drama Family, featuring Vinay Forrt in the lead as a literal wolf in sheep skin, is headed to OTT. Only days ago, Vinay had taken to social media about the incredible journey the film’s had, traversing across 26 film festivals over a year and a half. The film, which had also had a theatrical run earlier this year, is now coming to OTT, he’d said and confirmed the platform it was headed to. We now have a streaming date as well.

Vinay had shared that Family was coming to ManoramaMAX and the streamer has now confirmed that it will be available on the platform from December 6, 2024. The film, which was well received at the festivals and during its theatrical run, is now gearing up for more love when it becomes available to a wider audience.
Don Palathara’s film, meanwhile, has Vinay as a ‘loved and respected’ young man, Sony, from a village in central Kerala. A well-meaning and helpful person, Sony, to the outside world is the epitome of an ideal man. And it is this that he uses to trap unsuspecting victims to abuse them. Sony is a pedophile, who preys on the young kids that he tutors, a troubling truth that is swept under the carpet by society. How religious institutions, in this case, the Catholic Church, is also instrumental in allowing a predator to thrive is a central plot point of the film.
