Said to be a spin-off of Romancham, the movie also stars Soubin Shahir, Arjun Ashokan and Chemban Vinod Jose
Upcoming Malayalam film Aavesham, starring Fahadh Faasil, has been generating quite the buzz lately due to the actor’s gritty first look that went viral on social media. Helmed by Jithu Madhavan, who has previously directed Romancham, shooting for the action-packed campus entertainer is already wrapped up, but its release date is constantly being pushed. As per a recent report by The Times of India, the movie is expected to release on April 11, 2024. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Fahadh did mention plans to release the film in January next year.

Fahadh Faasil’s character in Aavesham
According to reports, Fahadh is portraying the character of a local thug in a movie set in a college. The photos taken at the location show the actor sporting a thick moustache and jewellery, hinting at a tough and violent character. In his conversation with OTTplay, the actor expressed his excitement about the film and said that the role is unlike anything he has played before.
Recently, actor Chemban Vinod Jose revealed that Fahadh’s character in the film is based on the character of Sayed Mohammed, played by Chemban in Romancham . Like Romancham, Aavesham is also extensively shot in Bengaluru, and is said to be inspired by real events.
Aavesham also features Ashish Vidhyarthi and Mansoor Ali Khan in key roles. Bankrolled by Nazriya Nazim, Fahadh and Anwar Rasheed, the film includes Sushin Shyam (as composer) and Sameer Thahir (as cinematographer) in its crew.
Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming projects
Meanwhile, Fahadh will begin the shooting of his romantic comedy film Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira by November. This film is helmed by the director of Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela Althaf Salim. It’s a commercial entertainer that features Fahadh in a romantic avatar after a gap.
The actor’s latest films to hit the theatres include Maamannan and Dhoomam. While Maamannan garnered a good response from both the theatres and OTT, Dhoomam faced a setback in the cinemas, and is yet to be released on a digital platform.
