Aavesham out on OTT - With a phenomenal increase in attendance, the Fahadh Faasil-starrer debuted on April 11 with the highest box office opening of all the Vishu releases.
One of the recent successful Malayalam films of 2024, Aavesham, has made its way to the digital space within a month after its theatrical release on April 11. The Fahadh Faasil-starrer entertainer is now available to stream on Amazon Prime. It is accessible only in Malayalam with English subtitles.
After the movie's theatrical debut, it became known that the top streaming service Amazon Prime Video, had purchased the post-theatrical OTT streaming rights of Aavesham. It is reported that the platform paid an enormous sum for the Jithu Madhavan-directed film's OTT rights.
Although it was previously expected that the action-comedy would be released by the end of May, fans of the actor and moviegoers who were unable to see the film in theatres were thrilled to learn that it would soon be available on digital platforms. However, none of the other Vishu releases, such as Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham or Unni Mukundan’s Jai Ganesh, are yet to be made available on any OTT platforms. Not even Aadujeevitham, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and released in March, has appeared on digital platforms.

With a phenomenal increase in attendance, the movie debuted on April 11 with the highest box office opening of all the Vishu releases. The film entered the Rs 100 crore-club, just three weeks after its theatrical debut. At the box office, the action-comedy is the seventh Malayalam film of the year to break the Rs 100-crore barrier. It is also the highest-grossing solo film in Fahadh Faasil's career.
The film centres on three young boys who end up in the hands of a prominent mobster while seeking an alliance to take on their college bullies. The arrival of Fahadh Faasil breathes new life into Aavesham and intensifies the suspenseful and comedic aspects of the movie.
