SonyLIV has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the comic caper that hit theatres on May 27
F3, the sequel to the 2019-hit F2: Fun and Frustration, is having a victorious run at the box office, drawing youngsters and family audiences alike to the theatres. Written and directed by Anil Ravipudi, the full-length comic caper retained a majority of the prequel's cast including Venkatesh, Varum Tej, Tamannaah, Mehreen Pirzada, Rajendra Prasad, to name a few. Following its success, many viewers are curious about the OTT premiere date of F3. SonyLIV had bagged the film's streaming rights.
The makers of F3 today issued a clarification about the film's OTT release. In a video released by the team, actors Venkatesh, Varun Tej and director Anil Ravipudi asked viewers not to wait for F3's OTT release and told them to catch the movie in theatres first. F3 will release on SonyLIV only after it completes its eight-week theatrical run i.e. around 6 days. So, the film will arrive on the digital platform in the last week of July.
This is a smart move to delay its OTT premiere given family audiences generally take a while to watch a movie in theatres and an early OTT release may dent the film revenue considerably. Zee Telugu has grabbed the satellite rights of F3. The prequel to F3, F2: Fun and Frustration, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Dil Raju, the film's producer, has always been wary of his films' streaming premiere window, excepting a rare case like Vakeel Saab that arrived on OTT within two and a half weeks of its theatrical release.
Murali Sharma, Ali, Sunil and Sonal Chauhan are the latest additions to F3 (who didn't feature in F2). F3 was edited by Timmaraju and cinematographed by Sai Sriram. Devi Sri Prasad had scored the music for the film while Pooja Hegde sparkled in a song appearance for a number titled Life Ante Minimum Itta Vundaala.
