Warner Bros. seems to have a tough decision to make when it comes to the Flash franchise. Ezra Miller, who essays the role of the titular superhero, has found themself in the midst of multiple controversies of late. The actor’s erratic behaviour has cast questions about their future in the upcoming DCEU films.

According to a report in Deadline, Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav is currently mulling over how Miller’s multiple controversies would affect future projects in the Flash franchise. The CEO’s intention of growing the DCEU to the scale of the MCU is no secret. A source told the publication that the studio had attempted to provide support and help to the actor. But despite their efforts, Miller’s scandals had continued to make headlines.

The report stated that Zaslav had several options before him. They included pulling back on further promotions of the film, opting for a digital release of the upcoming The Flash film, or hope for the film to become a success and subsequently fire Miller if their controversial behaviour continued.

Miller has found themself in the midst of numerous controversies just this year. These include harassment and grooming allegations as well as allegations of physical assault.

The Flash film is scheduled for release in 2023, after witnessing multiple delays after numerous director changes and issues caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to Miller, the film also features Michael Keaton reprising his role as The Batman. Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck also star in the Andy Muschietti directorial.
