The movie also has Dhyan Sreenivasan and Sreenath Bhasi playing the male leads
Actress Urvashi, who was last seen in Malayalam in Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan, will once again showcase her comedic chops but this time with a serious message too in Maxwell Jose’s upcoming film H, which also has Dhyan Sreenivasan and Sreenath Bhasi.
The team had recently released the poster of the movie, featuring a vintage car in a suburban backdrop. However, contrary to what the poster suggests, it’s neither a road movie nor is it a period film.
“It’s a family entertainer. The movie showcases the clash of ideologies between two generations and how you should never underestimate a woman,” Maxwell tells OTTplay. “It’s about a middle-aged woman named Sissy’s attempt to prove that age is just a number. We can’t reveal more about it as it would give away the plot.”
While Urvashi plays Sissy, Dhyan and Sreenath play the other protagonist in the film, which is set to begin shooting in May, with Kannur being the principal location. Urvashi also has debutant Remya Aravind’s Oru Policekarante Maranam, along with Soubin Shahir, coming up.
Meanwhile, H marks Maxwell’s second collaboration with Dhyan Sreenivasan. Their previous venture Khali Purse of Billionaires, which also has Aju Varghese, is currently gearing up for a theatrical release in March.
“It’s about two unemployed youngsters, who decide to start their own company and face a series of hurdles. It’s an entertainer and an updated version of Dasan and Vijayan,” says the director.
Incidentally, before the pandemic, the filmmaker was set to work on a road movie titled Adukkala: The Kitchen Manifesto, with Dhyan and Lena in the lead. “About 80% of the movie is set in the Himalayan region in Nepal. So, we have to wait for international travel restrictions to be relaxed and the pandemic to subside a bit. I am hoping to shoot the film in November,” he says, adding that the pre-production work of the movie including its music has been completed.
