At a time when every actor is trying to gain and maintain visibility, and flaunt their work by building their image in the media, with social media content, posing for paparazzi and several interviews, actor Avinash Tiwari is different. The actor, who is known for playing leading and substantial parts in films and web series, the latest being the Karan Tacker-starrer Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, isn't someone who is hungry for publicity.

One doesn't get to see Avinash giving many interviews to the media, unless there is a release around the corner. In a conversation with OTTplay, the actor shares why he prefers to let his work speak louder than his words.

Asked why he does not give interviews to media more often, like his contemporaries, Avinash told OTTplay, "That is not true. I mean, if a journalist approaches me for an interview, I never decline. But, yes, I do not have a heavy PR machinery working behind me. I like speaking when I am asked to. I am an actor and I believe that I should speak when I have an acting project up for release, and when I have a chance to share my thoughts on the craft, storytelling, performance, etc. I think that if the media is really interested in talking to me, they will, like right now, when I am talking to OTTplay (smiles)."

Starting his career with the TV series Yudh, which featured Amitabh Bachchan, Avinash has acted in films like Tu Hai Mera Sunday, followed by Laila Majnu, which gave him huge visibility. He has also played pivotal parts in the anthology Ghost Stories, Bulbbul, The Girl on the Train, and in Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, which is streaming on Netflix.

Telling us about his upcoming projects, Avinash said, "I have three projects in the pipeline that will hopefully release next year, so I will be interacting with the media more. If they find my work interesting, they will talk to me."

The actor has finished shooting for two web series — Dongri To Dubai and Bambai Meri Jaan.
