The actor reveals why he is not widely visible on social media or mainstream media, except during the promotions for his shows
Barun Sobti debuted as an actor in 2009 and has gone on to become much loved. But unlike his contemporaries, Barun has managed to maintain a strong line between his public and personal lives. While most actors post constantly about their everyday lives on social media, Barun's fans and media have to wait patiently to interact with him since he only does that when he has a show to promote.
When we asked him what keeps him away from the media, Barun said, "I am aware of my loyal fan base, and I am thankful to them. I am not like a regular celebrity or an actor who has a strong PR machine working for him. I also don't attend several public events, give interviews, etc. Although there is nothing wrong with them, I am not one of those actors who ensures that they are always visible. I only make public appearances when a show of mine is about to release and I have to promote it. I know that I am doing a disservice to those who want to see more of me, but I think my fans love me in this way. Having said that, my fans will now see me extensively talking to the media because multiple shows of mine are lined up for release in the next few months."
"I like my work, so I am all for acting on camera, but when I am done with shooting, I am a family man who wants to be with his family and spend quality time with them," added Barun, who will soon be seen in the new Netflix web series Kohrra.
Barun's last two releases, Asur 2 and Badtameez Dil, are available to stream on JioCinema and Amazon miniTV, respectively.
