Veteran ghazal singer and actor Talat Aziz plays a pivotal role in Gulmohar, which is Sharmila Tagore's comeback film
Veteran ghazal singer-turned-actor Talat Aziz, who plays a special character in the upcoming film Gulmohar starring yesteryear Bollywood diva Sharmila Tagore, opened up about his acting and the film. He was asked about watching the film and the kind of responses he is receiving for his acting performance.
Talat told OTTplay, "Actually, I haven't watched the full film; I only acted in it. I know that there were special screenings, but I was a little caught up with my music at that time. However, I am receiving a positive response from everyone who has watched the film. I also received a call from Sharmila ji, who told me that I should act more often because she feels I am a natural performer. I am glad to get such a response, and I also told her that I will act more often."
Talat appears in the film as a family friend of the Batra family, around whom the plot revolves. He has also contributed his voice to a song based on him.
The film is all the more special because the multiple award-winning yesteryear superstar Sharmila Tagore is coming back on the big screen after a long gap of 12 years. Since the release of the trailer, curiosity about the film has only increased.
When asked to reveal more about the film to his fans, the veteran artist said, "I think people who love watching good stories, about a family film that is emotionally relatable will enjoy the film. Every character in the narrative is well fleshed out, and overall, it is a nice film. Since it is releasing on an OTT platform, one can enjoy the film with family at home without stepping out."
Gulmohar, directed by Rahul V Chittella and starring Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma, Simran, and Kaveri Seth, among others, is all set to release on March 3 on Disney Plus Hotstar.
