Silva with Silambarasan
Stunt Silva, who is geared up for the direct-to-OTT release of his directorial debut, Chithirai Sevvaanam on December 3, is also elated about the release of Maanaadu on November 25. The Silambarasan-starrer, directed by Venkat Prabhu, is riding high on expectations. The political thriller, which also has time-loop as one of the elements, is expected to be the much-awaited comeback for Silambarasan.
In a chat with OTTplay, Silva says that he has attempted some different action scenes in the movie. He says, "Silambarasan is fit like never before in Maanaadu. Many of his detractors were saying that he can't fight or run like he used to do in his earlier projects. But his speed and fast-paced moves have been intriguingly captured in the film. It will be a big treat for his fans. He has performed real action sequences, including glass-breaking scenes with great energy."
Silva also adds that the movie will be the best work of Venkat Prabhu after Mankatha (streaming on MX Player and Jio Cinema). "This is the first-of-its-kind movie made in India with regard to handling the concept of time-loop. Maanaadu will stand out for the performances of its actors like SJ Suryah, YG Mahendra and SA Chandrasekar, too," he adds.
Having composed fight scenes for more than 100 projects over the years in different languages, quiz him the difference in the expectation of movie lovers from different industries, he says, "The requirements are different from each film industries. In Malayalam, they are particular about enjoying realistic fights. In Tamil, the audience don't mind slightly exaggerated fight sequences. When it comes to Telugu viewers, they are okay with really exaggerated action choreography. What matters for them is how it is presented on screen with lot of energy."
