Yashoda actor Unni Mukundan lauds his co-star Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s mindset while shooting the movie
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s revelation that she was diagnosed with autoimmune condition Myositis a few months ago had sent shockwaves among her fans, but the actress never let any of it show while shooting for her upcoming thriller Yashoda, her co-star Unni Mukundan tells OTTPlay.
The Malayalam actor, who plays a doctor in Samantha’s Telugu action thriller helmed by Hari-Harish duo, is all praise for how professional the Family Man 2 star was on the sets of the movie that had completed shooting in July 2022.
“She was very active and looked fit. There were a lot of action sequences, and a lot of emotional highs and lows that her character goes through in the movie,” says Unni. “She did all of that perfectly. So, there was never a moment where she’d made you feel that she was tired or in pain. Hats off to her and her mindset. I really want her to come back in full swing.”
Samantha, who took to her social media page to reveal that she was suffering from the condition last month, has also dubbed for the movie herself. “It was a difficult time for me when I did the dubbing for Yashoda. Given that the release date was announced already, I had to dub in a very difficult health condition,” she said in a recent interview.
The actress plays a surrogate mother who takes on the crime syndicate of medicos in the movie, which also includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Sampath Raj. Yashoda, which is reportedly based on a true story, will hit theatres in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi on November 11.
The actress will next be seen in Gunasekhar’s period drama Shaakuntalam, which has Malayalam actor Dev Mohan essaying the role of King Dushyant, and the romcom Kushi, opposite Vijay Devarakonda. The actress is also part of BAFTA-winning director Philip John’s Arrangements of Love, which is based on the eponymous novel by Timeri N Murari.
