Recently, actors Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and famous cricketer Shubman Gill’s deepfakes were circulated online which sparked global outrage. Deepfake videos are created by artificial intelligence-driven tools that replace one person's likeness convincingly with that of another. Following the controversy of Rashmika, Katrina, and Shubman’s deepfakes being circulated online, the Indian Government has asked social media companies to remove deepfakes within 36 hours of a complaint being registered. While people continue to express concern on the pressing matter, actress Saiyami Kher has expressed her views on it.
