The actor’s prospects in Tollywood are on the upswing with a couple of web shows as well.
When Bengaluru boy Ishan CV made his filmi foray with Rogue a few years ago, even though it was a Kannada-Telugu bilingual directed by Puri Jagannadh, he was clear that he wanted to make a mark on home ground. But while his second film in Kannada, the Pawan Wadeyar directorial Raymo , is still in post-production, Ishaan is rapidly making inroads in neighbouring Tollywood.
Late on Thursday night, Ishan announced his third film, Tatvamasi, an action thriller being made by a team from Telugu films, including director Ramana Gopisetti, which will eventually be released as a pan-Indian film with versions for the rest of the south, in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Peter Hein is the stunt co-ordinator. “It's a great team to be a part of. To make it a truly pan-Indian film, there will be stars from each of these industries on the cast,” says Ishan.
Tatvamasi will also star Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj and Harish Uthaman. “It’s a thriller, so, it would not be right to say that Varalaxmi is paired opposite me. She is the female lead of the film,” explains Ishan, speaking to OTTplay on his way back home after a shoot schedule in Hyderabad for a Telugu web series.
“I am currently working on a 10-episode Telugu show for Hotstar, formal announcements of which will be done shortly. There’s also 3 Roses for Aha, which also stars Payal Rajput and Eesha Rebba, among others. There are other offers as well for Telugu movies and things are looking up for me there, but I want to be a star in Kannada films too,” adds Ishan.
