The actress, who is known for films like Pushpa, Geeta Govindham, Sita Ramam, among tohers, opened up to us about the things she is missing out on life ever since she joined the South Indian film industry.
They say being famous comes at a price, and Rashmika Mandanna can vouch for the validity of that statement.
On Friday (September 16), at a press conference in New Delhi, the South Indian actress spoke about her upcoming family drama Goodbye in great detail, and explained her own journey from obscurity to stardom.
When we asked her during the course of the media interaction as to what are the things she feels she is missing out on in life—considering her Bollywood launchpad is about lost chances with loved ones—Rashmika Mandanna surprised us all by stating that in the last five years, she has no recollection of making memories with her family.
"I think the things that I am missing the most out on in life is the quality time I could have spent with my family and loved ones. Ever since I became an actor, in the last five years, I have made no memories with my family.I am always working and have not managed to enjoy the simple joys of life. My sister, who was just a little girl (shows through hand gestures) has now grown big and i have no idea when did this natural transition come about. I am missing out on a lot of family time. Rashmika before Goodbye and Rashmika after Goodbye are two different people. I now call my family to check on them and that change has come in me because of this film," Rashmika told us.
The South Indian actress, who is known for her cute antics and laudable acting chops, was in New Delhi for the launch of her Bollywood debut Goodbye's The Hic song.
When we quizzed about the ongoing proverbial battle between the South Indian movies and Bollywood in today's time, she laughed it off by saying she is "too small" to get into that debate.
"And the thing that you asked about the Hindi film and South Indian films and yeh woh... I am just too small to talk about all of that. I don't know and I have no comment on that (laughs!). Because, I believe that, I think about two weeks or about a month back, my film Sita Ramam released and it got immense love from everywhere. Not only from South but also from Hindi and the North belt," Rashmika Mandanna told us.
Directed by Vikas Behl, Goodbye features Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, Shivin Narang, Neena Gupta, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sunil Grover and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles, and is all set to release in theatres on October 7, 2022.
