Rakshit Shetty is currently shooting for Hemanth Rao's film and is expected to wrap up the shoot within the next couple of weeks
Actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty is a man of commitment and anyone who has worked with him will have no qualms in vouching for that. As someone who has often led the way for others through his ambition and perseverance, Rakshit has increasingly grown busy over the years, mainly owing to his projects which have demanded a lot of time and effort on his part. And if his latest tweet, which is in essence a due update to his fans about his upcoming lineup of films, is to be of any assistance, it is that he now has his focus clearly set on projects that he is most passionate about.
Rakshit Shetty, after wrapping up Hemanth Rao's Sapta Sagardaache Ello will plunge into the world of film directing with the much-anticipated Richard Anthony being his next immediate task. He will then move on to directing the highly ambitious Punyakoti 1 & 2 before tackling the Midway to Moksha challenge.
"While growing up, I would listen to the Punyakoti folk tale from my grandparents and all the details of that story would stay with me. And later in the night, I would envelope myself in a blanket and try to visualize the story as a film of some kind and feel completely lost in that little world I would have created myself. It was my own reimagination and when I do make the movies in the future, I want to bring that reimagination to life in the best manner possible. And for that, I would need time," said Rakshit Shetty in his previous conversation with OTTplay.
And it is apparent that he is willing to give his all to any film that he believes in, regardless of whether he is at the helm of things or not. One such is the moody romance drama Sapta Sagaradaache Ello for which he has gained close to 20 kilos and practically gone MIA from the limelight so as to keep the 'look' away from the tabloids. But one wonders what it is to be a sought-after actor like Rakshit Shetty and also endure the many occupational hazards, while you continue to rekindle your passion for the craft and show up to work without creating much fuss.
Hemanth M. Rao, who has been the prime witness to his aspect of Rakshit Shetty's personality, says, "I feel there is a certain amount of unspoken understanding between the actors and me, the director. We knew the process of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello would be incredibly taxing so when things did eventually get a little tough, we weren't completely blindsided. The constant interruption, however, because of the lockdowns got to us and that's when Rakshit's physical transformation became a matter of concern - mainly because he had to remain in that shape for an additional amount of time. But what got us through is his process of dealing with a character of this kind. Instead of letting its melancholy and other factor affect him, Rakshit was able to get in and out of the character as needed. And the weight gain, too, was controlled. We had a professional constantly guiding him through the process and ensuring that things get out of our hands because I needed him to not just put on weight but also bulk up in a certain manner."
