Exclusive! Rajneeti 2: Saurav Das is the new entry in Ditipriya Roy’s political thriller

Sourav Chakraborty’s directorial also features Ditipriya Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty, Koneenica Banerjee, and others.

Earlier this year, Sourav Chakraborty’s web series Rajneeti garnered appreciation from viewers and critics alike. A gritty tale of the inner-family politics of a political family of Kaushik Ganguly’s character got a nod for a second season during the annual slate announcement of Hoichoi. Besides Kaushik, whose character dies in the first season, Sourav Chakraborty’s directorial also features Ditipriya Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty, Koneenica Banerjee, and others. According to sources, Saurav Das may take a fresh entry in the new season. The show may go on the floors in February.

Saurav – a popular face on OTT – was last seen in Hoichoi’s Andarmahal with Ishaa. He will soon be seen in another web series on Zee5 opposite Ishaa. Meanwhile, he is busy shooting Nana He – a film based on the tradition of Gambhira. Kharaj Mukhopadhyay and Sritama Dey also play key characters in the film. He has also worked in Sayantan Mukherjee’s yet-to-be-released web series 1954. The show which is based on the infamous and grisly murder mystery of Bela Rani in 1954 also features Rudranil Ghosh, Prantika Das, and Pujarini Ghosh. The show will be dropped on Camelia’s upcoming OTT platform, Friday.

Meanwhile, Sourav Chakraborty has completed another web series Chemistry Mashi for Hoichoi. This show is a debut for Debashree Roy on OTT. He has also collaborated with Sourav Ganguly in a promotional video made for Tripura tourism.
