Many have said that they felt triggered after watching the web series Kafas. Preeti Jhangiani made her OTT debut with the show, and when we spoke to her recently, she said that it is important for the audience to talk rationally about the issue of child sexual abuse and parenting without feeling bitter.

Preeti told OTTplay, "The show is meant to trigger and create an impact, especially with parents. Kafas is about the struggle of a young boy and his parents and what happens to a victim's family when a child is sexually abused. As a society, we should all speak about the issue instead of sweeping it under the carpet, because speaking will create awareness. Also, the issue has nothing to do with the film industry because abuse happens everywhere."

In Kafas, Preeti plays the character of superstar Vikram Bajaj, who is a sexual predator.

Speaking about her character, Preeti said, "It is an interesting character. She is married to a man who is a huge star, so she has an image to maintain. But she lives a different reality behind closed doors. What is frustrating for her is that even though on the surface it looks as if she has a lot of power, she has no choice but to be a good wife and maintain the image of a star wife. So, every now and then, when she gets tired of the circus that she is living in, she insults her husband in her own way. She realises that she has no choice because her husband is a powerful man and there is an entire system to protect him. She cannot stand up to such power, which is why she constantly finds a way to make peace with her situation."

The six-episode series Kafas is an Indian adaptation of the British show Dark Money. It also stars Sharman Joshi, Mona Singh, and Vivan Bhatena, and is available to stream on SonyLIV.
