Exclusive! Munawar Faruqui clears whether he had a confrontation with Sunil Pal before Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp

Sunil Pal had thrown accusations at Munawar Faruqui, almost like they knew each other from before meeting at Kangana Ranaut's Lock Upp.

Munawar Faruqui had a fallout with comedian Sunil Pal at Lock Upp Grand Premiere. Sunil was seen throwing accusations at Munawar and before it all, the two said that they knew each other. While it appeared that they had a baggage before coming on the show, Munawar told us that was not the case, at least with him.

“I didn't know him personally from before. I had only seen his comedy. We never met each other,” Munawar clarified about ace comedian Sunil Pal.

At the premiere episode with Kangana Ranaut, Sunil Pal had thrown all kinds of accusations at Munawar. Sunil had blasted at Munawar and the comedian was completely unaware about what was happening or at least that’s what Munawar said during his Instagram live session post Lock Upp.

After Munawar won Lock Upp, Sunil Pal once again took to Facebook and spoke against the comedian. He asked the viewers to not promote ‘vulgar comedians.’ Further, Sunil asked people to ‘save comedy’ by not promoting people like Munawar.

During his Insta live, Munawar also addressed the issue. He said that he respects comedy just as much as Sunil and thus, he should not ask people to ‘save comedy’ by not promoting Munawar.

Munawar revealed that he did not pay attention to the post but many of his fans brought it to his attention. Munawar addressed the same while talking to his fans.

Munawar Faruqui became the winner of Lock Upp through both voting system as well as by getting Kangana Ranaut’s nod. The comedian had received over 18 lakh votes. The votes were more than the five finalists competing with him – Payal Rohatgi, Anjali Arora, Shivam Sharma and Azma Fallah – combined.

Along with the trophy, Munawar won Rs. 20 lakhs, a car and a trip to Italy through Lock Upp. The comedian had expressed his desire for the car a day before the Grand Finale.
