Sudev Nair shared screen space with Mohanlal and Mammootty in Monster and Bheeshma Parvam, respectively
State Award-winner Sudev Nair ticked off two major goals on his bucket list with this year’s releases – Bheeshma Parvam and Monster. The actor got to share screen space with both Mammootty and Mohanlal.
In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Sudev talked about his biggest takeway from acting with the two stalwarts and the differences between the two superstars.
“Lalettan is very mischievous; Mammukka has more of a godly aura,” he says. “I had this assumption when I watched them onscreen that Lalettan was a spontaneous actor while Mammukka had his process. But when I worked with them, I realised that all great actors function almost similarly. Mammukka has the presence and aura, but he is also spontaneous. It’s not like he has rehearsed everything. That’s just a misconception we have when we don’t know how things work.”
The duo isn’t the only two great co-stars Sudev had the past year as he had also worked with Roshan Mathew in Sibi Malayil’s Kotthu and Siju Wilson in Vinayan’s Pathonpathaam Noottaandu.
The scene in which his character of a cop brutally beats up Roshan’s character in Kothu stood out in the film, for the raw energy of its actors. “I was lifting him and flinging him for that scene. Roshan is a very committed and dedicated actor. He didn’t mind those things at all. I don’t know how it would have been if it was a big star. Roshan was very cool to work with,” he says.
Sudev also explains that he shares a good camaraderie with Siju now. “We became really good friends after the shoot. Even when he was in Mumbai, he came and visited me. We used to work out together. We become close during the shoot and after. It’s also because he too had that fire to keep pushing,” says the actor, who is currently shooting for a Hindi web series.
