It seems like Mohanlal is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his directorial debut is as close to perfect as possible. The movie, which had been plagued with multiple delays due to the pandemic and script changes, will now reportedly head to reshoots early next year, as per sources from the team.

The team had announced in August that they had wrapped up the principal photography of the film, which first went on floors in 2021 but had to be put on hold a week later due to the second lockdown in Kerala. This led to a delay of almost seven months – during which the film’s initial writer Jijo Punnoose had stepped down and there were even talks of the movie being shelved. Mohanlal, however, took the initiative to revive the movie and also re-wrote the script with TK Rajeevkumar to make it more viable.

In fact, a few months ago, Mohanlal himself had announced that the movie had completed its shoot and the film was in advance stages of post-production with editing works progressing swiftly, with an eye on March 2023 release.

We now hear from sources from the team that the team will head for reshoots in January 2023 once Mohanlal is back from Ram’s shoot, which is currently progressing in Morocco and has two more schedules in Delhi and Israel. Mohanlal is expected to shoot for Barroz in Rajasthan. It’s likely that these are just patchworks and portions that require limited time.

The film, which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, is a 3D children’s fantasy in which Mohanlal essays the role of a 400-year-old ghost who guards a treasure meant for the descendant of Vasco D’Gama. The movie also stars Guru Somasundaram and a bunch of foreign actors in supporting roles.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is also expected to begin shooting for Lijo Jose Pellissery’s next, which again has Rajasthan as one of its locations.
