Live, which is set to go on floors this week, also has Priya Prakash Varrier and Shine Tom Chacko as part of the cast
After the success of Oruthee, director VK Prakash and scriptwriter S Suresh Babu are set to reunite for a social thriller revolving around media in Live, which has Mamta Mohandas, Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko and Priya Prakash Varrier in the lead.
The movie’s scriptwriter Suresh Babu tells OTTplay, “The movie is about the kind of impact that media has when it intrudes into the lives of people. The film is also inspired by certain real-life incidents. Shine Tom Chacko plays a journalist in the movie while Mamta essays the role of a pediatric surgeon. Priya essays the role of a college student and Soubin is an influential entrepreneur, who runs a garment business. How certain events transpire when the media reports on their lives is what the story is about. It’s told in a thrilling manner.”
Live will be shot in Kochi. The movie is produced by Films 24 and Darrpan Bangejaa. “Plans are also in place to release the movie in multiple languages,” he says. “As it revolves around media, it will relevant in all languages.” VK Prakash and Suresh Babu will also be reuniting for the sequel of Oruthee next year.
Incidentally, both Soubin and Mamta, who had earlier worked together in Meow, were set to team up for another project titled Eo, which was to be directed by Bhadran and scripted by Suresh Babu. Shane Nigam has now replaced Soubin in the film, which is set to go on floors after the director completes work on the 4K version of Mohanlal’s Spadikam.
Mamta’s previous release was Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Jana Gana Mana. She is also part of Maheshum Marutiyum, which has Asif Ali in the lead. The actress also has Rudrangi in Telugu and Oomai Vizhigal, which is Tamil, set to release.
