Actor Anshumaan Pushkar, who plays a pivotal part in the second season of the web series Kathmandu Connection, reveals how his character Sunny has evolved from the first season to the upcoming one.

Sharing more insights into his character and how it is changing in the new season, Anshumaan told OTTplay, "A lot has changed in season two, since the story starts five years from where it ended in the first season. Now, the story is around a new connection with Kathmandu and the investigation of the IC-814 hijack. Something happens that brings everyone together from where they were left. When it comes to my character, Sunny - he has been in jail for five years and was trying to find his space there. Earlier, he was highly driven by emotions and there was a lot of fire in him. Now, he is calmer, calculative and shrewd! But he has an emotional side and that is love."

The actor went on to add, "Sunny is driven by love and can go to any extent in the name of love, and for Shivani. In the new season, there is something that he does that brings a twist to the tale."

The first season of the show released in 2021 and was a gripping tale of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. The new season shows how journalist Shivani Bhatnagar, who is working on the IC-814 hijacking story for a London-based media house, chances upon a secret document and gets to know about a national security threat for India. As she tries to decode the possible conspiracy, she finds a connection with Kathmandu. The second season is about what happens.

Kathmandu Connection is written by Siddharth Mishra, directed by Sachin Pathak, and produced by Ajay G Rai. It also stars Gopal Datt, Amit Sial, Aksha Pardasany, Prashant Narayanan, Harleen Sethi and Anuraag Arora. The second season will stream on December 23 on SonyLIV.
