Mona Singh started her acting journey with the popular television show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin in 2003. She has since gone through various phases in her career and explored different mediums of acting, such as TV, films, and now web series.

Interestingly, her journey in the entertainment industry has led her to observe a lot of harsh realities. Her show, Kafas, is about child sexual abuse.

In the show, Mona plays the mother of the victim. Speaking about the show, she told OTTplay, "The show speaks about child sexual abuse and parenting. I have personally observed that many parents push their children to act so that they become famous. I have seen parents from small places quitting their jobs and coming to Mumbai with a small child, making the child act in films and shows, and living on their child's money. So, through Kafas, we are sending a message to all parents to let their children be and not force them. If the kids want to become actors by choice, then that is their wish. But parents who force their children to get into acting and make them work hard do not end well for them. Imagine the trauma the child goes through. It is important for parents to realise what is happening with their children."

She added, "If parents notice any behavioural changes in the child, they should address the issue and talk to the child. Parents should become friends with their children so that the child feels free to share everything with them without being scared. I believe that such an open environment should be there in every household because it is better to address an issue than suffer in silence."

Kafas is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, and Sahil Sangha, who is also the director. It is available to stream on SonyLIV.
